QuickBooks Desktop vs Online: Same QBO File
Both QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online accept QBO (Web Connect) files. The import path differs:
QuickBooks Desktop:
- File → Utilities → Import → Web Connect Files
- Select your QBO file
- Choose existing account or create new one
- Review and add transactions to the register
QuickBooks Online:
- Gear ⚙ → Import data
- Select Bank transactions
- Upload your QBO file
- Review and categorize
Our converter produces a single QBO file that works with both.

When to Use an Online Converter
- You want no installation — start immediately in the browser
- You use multiple devices — convert from any computer
- You prefer simpler workflow — upload, download, import
- You have text-based PDFs (downloaded from bank portal)
- You want batch conversion without installing software
